On November 6th, 2012: VOTE YES for Forever Wild to continue to protect our lands and our waters without increasing taxes.

Who We Are:

Alabamians for Forever Wild is a broad-based and bipartisan coalition of businesses, conservation organizat
ions, hunting & fishing groups, and Alabamians who are supporting a constitutional amendment to continue to protect Alabama’s beaches, rivers, fish and wildlife habitat and other natural areas through Alabama’s Forever Wild program – without increasing taxes.

What is Forever Wild?

Forever Wild is Alabama’s signature water quality and outdoor recreation program and is funded by fees paid to the state by oil and gas companies who drill off Alabama’s coast, NO funding comes from taxes. For 20 years, Forever Wild has protected Alabama land and water, while making more areas available for public recreation like hunting and fishing. A constitutional amendment will appear on the November 2012 general election ballot to allow voters to show their support for continuing the program, or letting it expire.

Benefits of Alabama’s Forever Wild Program:

Nothing is more important that having clean water – clean water to drink, to hunt and fish, and for our children and grandchildren to swim and play in.  At its core, Forever Wild is about keeping pollution out of our rivers, lakes, and streams while protecting the quality of our state’s drinking water supplies.

Yet, this is about more than the quality of life of Alabama residents.  Forever Wild is an Alabama success story that has protected over two hundred thousand acres of Alabama’s natural areas.  These investments of oil and gas funds in outdoor recreation and clean water support jobs and economic development throughout Alabama.

Hundreds of thousands of tourists visit Alabama each year, pumping over $2.2 billion dollars into the state economy.  Continuing our state’s Forever Wild program will help preserve the beauty of beaches, parks, and natural areas to help us continue to draw tourists to Alabama.
